Atoma Design has been engaged to bring an old 1920's brick home into a contemporary context for a growing family.

The house is situated on Clovelly beach, set in a sprawling garden that the clients have nurtured and developed over the years.

Our response was to enlarge the ground floor by excavating and carving out new spaces on the sloping site, bringing new life to the lower level and creating additional living areas.

The new spaces are oriented to look out at the lush garden and capture sunlight with a series of new windows and a large warm timber deck for entertaining, connecting the house to the garden.
